Account Manager

Qualifications & experience:
B-commerce degree in Accounting
Qualified SAIPA / ACCA / AGA (SA) Member

Duties:
Report directly to partner
Part of a team (team-player)
Review work and train junior trainees
Manage client portfolio
Review bi-monthly vat reconciliations, submission of VAT201 returns,
Review monthly capturing of data on Xero
Review payroll
Review and submit EMP201’s
Review and or perform compilations of financial statements and Independent

Reviews:
Complete Independent reviews
Provide training for junior trainees
Calculation of provisional tax returns
Calculation of income tax returns
Review income tax returns and submission thereof
Work in a fast-paced environment
Keep to deadlines
Adhoc admin duties (not limited to the above)

Salary:
Market related

This is an in-office position
Candidates must live in or near the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town

Trainee Accountant

Personality:
Strong work ethic
A “can-do” attitude
Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills
Ability to work as a team
Analytical with problem-solving abilities

Requirements:
BCom Accounting or equivalent degree in progress / completed
Strong computer literacy – especially Excel
Experience with Xero will be advantageous
Excellent self-management skills
Well-developed communication skills in Afrikaans & English

Duties:
Interpreting clients’ accounting records and compiling annual financial statements (IFRS for SME’)
Processing monthly transactions for VAT purposes and the reconciliation of records up to the trial balance status
Performing tax calculations and completing income tax returns and provisional tax returns
Performing VAT and PAYE calculations
Assisting with various client matters, including administrative work
Resolving queries (including SARS)

Job Requirements:
• Strong communication & computer skills

• Experienced with Company and Trust secretarial work
• Competent with CIPC and The Master’s Office
• Legal and moral integrity
• Fluent in Afrikaans and English
